beloved eros
These legs, for instance, mine.
Your arms take you back in.
Spoons of our fingers, lips
admit their ownership.
The bedding yawns, a door
blows aimlessly ajar
and overhead, a plane
singsongs coming down.
Nothing is changed, except
there was a moment when
the wolf, the mongering wolf
who stands outside the self
lay lightly down, and slept."

Poem "After Love"
In the last two years, I fell deeply in love — a journey not just of the heart, but of the soul, awakening a kind of tender Eros that only ‘The Beloved ‘ can stir. My body transcended individuality, limbs no longer mine, becoming 'ours'. The wolf of solitude finally yielded, lay lightly down at our feet and now sleeps soundly. Intelligence finally in love.
At ease. At peace.
Embraced. Held. Adored.
Eros, often misconstrued as mere romantic or sexual desire, is in truth a vast and majestic intelligence. It is the force that drives us from the depths of numbness to the peaks of ecstasy, navigating between the poles of Thanatos (destruction) and Eros (creation). In our moments of pain and wounding, Eros can seem distant, elusive. Yet, in its most exalted form, as experienced in the arms of The Beloved, it becomes a transformative power, a cosmic force that ‘unselfs’ and ‘rewilds’ simultaneously.
The Eros awakened by The Beloved is unique in its flavor — an exquisite blend of passion, intimacy, and profound devotion. It transcends the physical, delving into the realms of the emotional and divine. In this space, love is not just a feeling but a state of being, a resonance that weaves everything into being around you. This is the realm of cosmo-erotic humanism, as articulated by Marc Gafni, where Eros is understood as the essence of 'homo amor' — the pinnacle of human physical and metaphysical experience.
This experience of ‘Eros of The Beloved’ brought forth an existential belonging that resonates with every fiber of my being now. It was as if, in the merging with another, I found a deeper connection to all of existence. The worries of the self, the anxieties of individuality, the crises of meaning, all dissolved in the face of this profound devotion. In this space, Eros reveals itself as the cosmic fuel of the homo magnificus in us.
The wolf, symbolic of both our powerful devotional yet solitary paths, now rests in the serenity of our shared existence. In this embrace of Beloved Eros, I have found not just love, but a deep belonging — a sense of being inexorably woven into the fabric of life itself. Intelligence, finally at peace.
