I listen attentively.

I know myself quite profoundly, I feel. Daily meditation, some journalling, high-performance movement. Weekly forest bathing and deep ocean freediving. Monthly #skypeWine touchbase with my besties across the world. Yearly travels and wifi detoxes. Decades of introspection and purposeful adventure. So many tears along the way, so many inner and outer battles, an ocean of tears. Lifetimes of journeying & breaking. Being a mother. I know this girl, quite profoundly.

Yet I always listen with laser ears when a man sings

of a woman.

I can feel, in his voice, an echo of lifetimes past. I was many times a man and loved THE WOMAN with such intensity, it makes my heart wanna pop out. I can hear him. I was him.

i know I was a giant man in my past life
i can feel it in my stallion pull to rise up for women
envelop them in my insatiable power
relentless admiration

Yes. I was him, I feel it in my bones. Yet, in this round of the wheel of life, I listen to him, as a woman. I listen for his love, his pain, his yearning, his dreams, his ingenious oddities, his take on the simplicity of it all. I listen for those inscrutable clues of how I can love him, as a woman in this lifetime, powerfully. I listen for the gems to drop and show me the way, in every song.

He never asks for that much, at times for nothing at all in his songs. But when he sings of the woman, you can hear. A man longs to be
